Now Those Are Some Flakes

The snowflakes are nearly the size of 50 cent pieces! The thundersnow is falling right now. We got about 4 inches Friday night! New forecast for tonight through Monday afternoon is for an additional 16-20!

Church has been cancelled! So we are in the house (other than going out for clean up) for the foreseeable future. While I was (am) SO ready for spring, a storm like this is a little fun when you don't have to be anywhere!

The watch was indeed upgraded to a Blizzard Warning! Along with all that snow we have winds of 35-40 mph! Do know you what snowflakes the size of 50 cent pieces feel like when a 35mph wind whips them into your face? Hint: not good...rofl!

Oooh, I think I would like just one more giant snow.

I did walk through my front and back yard, and plants are showing growth everywhere. I love to see that...but snowflakes falling when you don't have to leave the house is awesome too.

This level won't be a loss of electricity risk for you guys, will it?

Our utility company is pretty good. The last time we lost power from a winter storm was in the 70s. That was an ice storm. So we don't really worry about losing power in the winter. Thunderstorms are a different beast!

We had those 1/2 dollar size snow flakes here Penny! I'm sorry you had such a mess out there, but really glad we dodged the bullet here!

It is hard to tell how much we actually ended up with here because there was so much blowing. It wasn't anywhere near the high end of what they were predicting. I would guess we had about 11 or 12 including the 4 from Friday. There are areas only about 20 minutes away that had twice as much. Really was a strange storm.

It was the wettest, ugliest ugliest snow I have ever seen. There are all these little black specks in it. I suspect the specks are from trees, but it looks like dirty french vanilla ice cream.

During clean-up it was raining. UGH! What a mess!

11-12" is still a pretty good snowfall. Too bad it wasn't a nice, fluffy WHITE one!!
