Evidence

Here is the evidence of why we should wait until later in May to plant around here:

See the words "FROSTY MORNING" on Thursday!?! What's crazier is today we hit 91! Yes, from 91 to frost in one week! That's Wisconsin for you...LOL! We are close enough to Lake Michigan that we should be protected from the frost, but just a few miles from us gardeners will be scrambling to bring in pots and cover tender seedlings.

We did have scattered frost one day last week, but not the extremes like you have!

Yep!!

I hear you, sister! We have exactly the same weather as you! 90's yesterday....I hate that kind of weather!!

How's the training going? What did you do today?

The training is going well, Martha! This week is a light week so yesterday was a 15 minute run. I ran the WHOLE time. When I first started, I couldn't run for a minute without having to stop!

Penny!!!

That is outstanding and gives me hope for myself. Although I don't think I will ever run. But I know even 1 minute of running would be hard for me.

How did you increase your running so much?

I'm thinking about you and your training! Keep up the great work!

Thanks Martha...I didn't do anything real scientific or anything! I had been running a very little bit on a treadmill, but it was more like speed walking really.

The first time I ran outside, I just ran until I felt I needed to catch my breath. Then walked until I felt like I could run again. If my training that day called for a 20 minute run, I would do a combination of running/walking for 20 minutes. Each time I could go a little further. Now I can run the full 20 mintues. This might help you build your running endurance: Couch-to-5k Running Plan

Thanks for your thoughts & words of encouragement!
