I Applaud My City

They don't always get things right, but I think they should be praised for proposing this new law!!

South Milwaukee Considers Law To Restrict Where Sex Offenders Can Live

South Milwaukee, WI -- A proposed new law could mean fewer places for sex offenders to live in one Milwaukee suburb. South Milwaukee is considering an ordinance that would prevent felons who are convicted of sexual crimes from living within 2,000 feet of facilities designed for children. That would include schools, day-care centers, playgrounds, athletic fields and parks.

The law would leave just a few isolated areas in the city where they could live. The proposal is similar to legislation recently put in place in Franklin.

I hope this legislation passes!

I also think there should be a nation wide law for child sex offenders. First offense, mandatory jail time...and not just a few months either. YEARS.

It wouldn't take long for some of these freaks to get the point, and stop what they're doing, for fear of what could happen to THEM inside the prison.

I agree completely!

About a week after we moved into our house we got notice a registered offender was moving into our area. Not on the same street, but close enough. The house he was in was TWO houses away from a school.
